There is no Difference between Islam and Radical Islam
Reader comment on item: A Strongman for Iraq?

Submitted by Yael Medved (Israel), Apr 28, 2003 at 16:53

Dear Daniel Pipes,

We all owe you a considerable debt for being one of the first to expose what you insist on calling Radical, Fundamentalist or Militant Islam, when so many academics were acting as paid apologists or useful idiots.

However, I regret to say that the artificial distinction you choose to make between Radical Islam and plain Islam has finally come to roost. Islam is a blueprint for permanent revolt against any form of internal, be it Islamic, established order. It is above all the rallying cry of waring nomadic tribes to conquer and loot the wealth of the sedentary established cities. By extention it has become a religious obligation to conquer non Islamic territory in order to loot. There is no more moderate Islam than there was moderate Nazism. Any band leader or Mullah can justify a revolt by invoking the Koran on the grounds that he represents the poor against the rich. Thus those who seize power must use it to supress all opposition. An Islamic government must either be military and suppress the Islamists, such as it was in Iraq, Syria or Egypt. When the Mullas or Ayatollas take over than they must suppress the reformists or the non-clerics. There are 60 Islamic States and not a signle democracy. The above pattern is always repeated. ISLAM AND DEMOCRACY ARE INCOMPATIBLE. There cannot be any real stability under Islam, except as a ruthless police state There is no building up, only destruction of all infrastructure. The source of this permanent disorder is the Koran itself. Islam means "Submission", not only to Allah, but in real terms to his self-appointed representatives. Etc.

What do I suggest ? Use an Iron Fist. That is what Moslems expect from a victor and will respect him only if he knows how to use his power.
1. Take the gloves off. Implement a policy of "Behave yoursleves, or else".
2. Establish "The Alliance of Democratic States" to supercede the United Nations. Only those states that pass a basic test of democracy, such as separation of State and Religion, may be members.
3. Implement a policy of containment to Islam, as a political ideology of conquest by terror. Arrest all Islamic territorial conquest and expansionism. Islam may not be practiced outside Islamic Territory. . Apply the same laws to Moslems in non-Islamic states as Saudi Arabia applies to Christians.
4. In Iraq, use the policy of "divide and rule". Establish a Kurdish state. Transfer as many Shiites to Iran as possible.
5. Recognize de Jure the de facto Palestinian State of Jordan. The overwhelming majority of the population of Jordan is Palestinian which makes it by definition the Palestinian Arab State. This will take the wind out of the sails of that litany of the homeless Palestinians.
6. Establish the Middle East Economic Community of Democratic States (MECODEMS) see my article in the Jerusalem Post - Oct 31, 2002

Either we will have the courage to deal with the political ideology of Islam which is on the point of exploding in our face under demographic pressures, now, or we will have to face a hundred years of Islamic terror and guerrila warfare. Islam will either implode or explode. Had Hitler's ideology been taken seriously and contained in time, 60 million people would not have perished in vain.
