Arab democracyReader comment on item: A Strongman for Iraq? Submitted by Henry E Wellington (United States), Apr 29, 2003 at 03:24 The concepts of democracy and ciivil rights are alienable to Arab culture., and history has proved this contention. So, why do we assume that Iraq and the Arabs in the Holy Land would be exceptions? Is it the same American naivite that caused Wilson to take us into the first World War to "make the world safe for democracy? And why do we expend blood and treasure not for our benefit?Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
