Basics in IraqReader comment on item: A Strongman for Iraq? Submitted by Ron Burgo PhD (United States), Apr 28, 2003 at 16:48 For the long haul, it is important for us to educate the children. Just as we did in the Philippines, we should begin in the schools from K-8 (or 12) to teach democracy plus morals, logic, ethics, and also have the clerics (mullahs), and mothers instill love and decency into the children. -- No multiculturalism. No NOW. No PETA. No Greenpeace, nor any other polarization organization. The future of Iraq, like any other nation, lies in the children. To save them now is to save the future of their country. Flood the Iraqi TV stations with programs like Andy Griffith, Mayberry RFD, Ozzie & Harriet, Lawrence Welk, etc. for exposure to good family values and programs from that same era that display the good qualities of government and police such as Hawaii 5-O, the original Dragnet with Jack Webb and any other programs that put the family police and government in good light. Please don't use Sean Penn, Madonna, Tom Robbins, the Dixie Chicks, or any of that ilk. Above all don't flood Iraqi TV with today's trash TV. I know. I was a teacher for 39 years from the golden age of teaching in the 1950's to the terrible age of teaching in the 90's. I saw the transition in our society and it is not a pretty site today.
