Re: Pipes Is right

Reader comment on item: A Strongman for Iraq?

Submitted by Khaldoun Khelil (United States), May 2, 2003 at 03:35

...Franco was one of the most brutal dictators of his century. his secret police forces were a model for all dictators to come. In fact because of Franco's legacym Spain to this day has a hamstringed Democracy, as recently proven by Spain enthusiatic support of the Iraq war despite its incredible unpopularity amongst the Spanish people. If we truly went to war to liberate Iraq and quest to shine the light of freedom across the darkened lands of Araby can we truly justify imposing another tyrant? can we?
