Islam-an evolving religion

Reader comment on item: What Jewish Ties to Jerusalem?

Submitted by Dallas (United States), Jul 5, 2006 at 10:43

Some schools within Islam teach that Allah can abrogate his word in response to situation. If the Quran or parts of it can be abrogated because of changing situation, then Islam is an evolving relativistic religion. It is this understanding of Islam as a product of religious evolution that justifies this dribble from the Palestinians. To the Muslim mind. Islam is a perfect version of revelation given in Judaism and Christianity. If Jewish history is the beginning of Muslim history and If ancient Israel is Islamic then Islam is a part of a evolutionary continuum.

This leads to my question. What will Islam, particularly as political Islamism evolve into? Perhaps it could evolve into Hermeticism ?
