Anyone who still believes that some type of political settlement can be reached concerning Jerusalem is simply kidding themselves. Islam, and Muslims in particular, are all about instinct, passion, glory, rage and power. Pure ego, all the time. Islam is inherently irrational to its core and we should not be wasting our time discussing geopolitics with them. Mr. Pipes' assertion that the Arab 'love' of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount is nothing more than pure tactics is bang-on. Here is an excellent essay on the foibles of Arab culture:
