Reader comment on item: What Jewish Ties to Jerusalem?
in response to reader comment: Harrak, you have to try a little harder!

Truly, the Bible is the only, reliable written record in existence upon which any cogent history of the region can be based. The days are long passed when liberal Christian "scholars" laughed at references to "Hittites" and all the other "-ites", in the region, and otherwise tried to find ways around the inspired writtedn Word of God, as archaeological discoveries of the past 100 years or so have fully vindicated the Biblical testimony of times and events; and to the informed, of Israel's right to not only the land with its present geographical boundaries, but also to a much greater portion of the region. Of course, this is not new "news"; certainly not to those reasonably well-educated individuals willing to approach the subject with an open mind, and willing to accept the evidence uncorrupted by preconceived notions.

So I ask: when will Islam, and its supporters who can only trace their roots back a few hundred years, wake up out of their self-imposed dreamlike confusion, made-up historical fantasies, and rationalizations recognize current reality for what it is, and join the rest of the civilized world before that civilized world reacts in using the only option left available to any culture faced with an external threat to its very existence?

Or is life for them now so intolerable, and their self-hatred, loathing, and jealousy (read Leon Uris' The Haj) so strong, that so many of them would rather wake up in hell (sorry, no virgins are waiting!) than live peacefully here and now with others originating from the same genetic stock? At a minimum, they should have the courage to admit that there is no historical or other basis in fact for Islam's absolute claim to Jerusalem; just current claims based on envy from a people whose religion has so poisoned minds and hearts that martyrdom and murder appear to be the only way out for them; and the courage to admit one of the unassailable facts the Word of God proclaims: Jerusalem now belongs only to the descendents of the line from Abraham through Isaac and Jacob (Israel), not Abraham through Ishmael.
