jerusalemReader comment on item: What Jewish Ties to Jerusalem? Submitted by stanley cohen (United Kingdom), Jun 21, 2006 at 10:53 Your article was Ok but you have only scratched the surface. eg..........When the crusaders took Jerusalem, appeals for help to Baghdad from the locals were ignored. And towards the end of the Crusades, the Moslems GAVE the city to a Christian prince. They only kicked him out when he started to expel the Jews and Moslems from the City. Not what you would expect for the 3Rd Holiest City of Islam. Jerusalem was just another example of Islam taking over other peoples Holy sites. A major example is St.Sophia in Constantinople. But the lands that Islam conquered are littered with examples. They are a major source of contention in India even today. Finally.........try telling a shi'ite moslem that Jerusalem is the 3rd Holy city of Islam. But if u do it.....DUCK..........because he is certain it is Najaf or Karballa Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
