It doesn't matter if you believe or not that either son ishamel or isacc was the one to be sacrificed or not. Thats why muslims believe that the bible was tampered with. as you have your facts...i have mine. In the bible GENESIS 18:20 says And for Ishmael, I have heard thee; Behold I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; tweleve princes(tribes) shall he beget, and I will make him of a great nation.

OK!!! So we have this right out of the bible. And look at todays world...just as you said(Jacob was also known as Israel. It was this lineage that produced the twelve tribes of Israel and all the prophets, judges and kings.} Now the bible speaks of ishamel having 12 tribes how could this be when the 12 tribes are of israel not tribes of arabs. Then there is (I will make him a great nation) jews have a great nation which is israel. muslims have 22 countries and seven that surrounds israel. so how can isacc be of many nation when muslim are. proof is in front of our faces. but despite the truth and differences..we all are here to comfirm faith in one G-d. and the G-d of one is the G-d of all.
