The Useless Nations needs human rightsReader comment on item: [Kofi Annan and] Eliminating Israel Politely Submitted by AV (United States), Dec 16, 2005 at 05:55 The United Nations must *REQUIRE* its member nations to maintain acceptable standards of human rights and democracy. The disqualified nations must be demoted to observer status without the right to vote.If so, the cesspool of dictatorship and corruption would hopefully dry up. Then nations who believe in human rights and democracy could function more coherently. A UN that enforced human rights on itself would be turned on its head. As is, the UN stands for Useless Nations. My dad pointed out that Haiti is a good example of what happens when the UN is entrusted with nation building. Perhaps the UN is the most incompetent global organization on earth?
