The U.N. Who Listens?

Reader comment on item: [Kofi Annan and] Eliminating Israel Politely

Submitted by P.O.D. (Kuwait), Dec 15, 2005 at 13:36

Well, doesn't Kofi Annan's response to Sudan speak for itself? I barely listen to a word the U.N. has to say. When you can sit and watch 2 and half million Sudanese be slaughtered and not immediately declare it Genocide....

Quoting the death stats on Iraq means nada until you deal with Sudan. The Christians, Black Muslims and Animists are facing daily elimination, women are raped daily, slavery still exists, and where is the U.N.?

Or wait, would be offending the Arab countries to mention that Islamic Law is in effect, and these nasty crimes are being committed? Or, that the plain fact IS, the Muslims being murdered are BLACK Muslims, and not Arab Muslims? Oh, perish the thought, racism? What a coincidence, the Janjawid just so happen to be Arab Muslims.

As for Iran, does anyone care what their opinion is? Can we toss a vote here? All those of living in Iran, facing public floggings, and stonings, please raise their hand.

As for Israel, it will survive. The Arab countries are too busy fighting within, and with each other to seriously take care of the Palestinians. The record speaks for itself. Has the Arab League done anything substantial since ....
