Burqa escapee

Reader comment on item: Niqabs and Burqas as Security Threats

Submitted by Prashant (United States), Nov 10, 2013 at 13:32

Dear Dr Pipes:

Your readers might like to read about this event where a terrorism suspect indeed used a burqa to escape from a mosque where he was being observed: http://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2013/nov/08/burqa-fugitive-mohammed-ahmed-mohamed-20-charges.

Every religious theory has to pass the test of viability in real world. The ancient Islamic theories like 'interest free financing' and 'top to toe burqas for women' are no exceptions. I do not know by how many petty crimes are being committed in the Islamic societies by criminals who hide inside a burqa. Adultery, thefts, spying, and terrorism all become easier when a burqa is available to the perpetrator.
