Phil,

You think it is cruel to teach prayer and workship of one's creator, to give in charity, to fast, to not back-bite, to say "no compulsion in religion"? You think this is the teaching of a "murdurous fanatic"? Muslims follow the Qur'an because they believe - they have faith. They have every choice in their actions as no Imam has authority over them. An Imam doesn't know if I awake at dawn to pray of if I am fasting but Allah does know.

I strongly suggest that you try to learn about Islam and try to keep an open mind. I find it very hard to believe that anyone who studies the Qur'an and any good Biography of the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) could come to such conclusions and your approach benefits and helps no-one.
