First of all I agree with you. Here we do not harm eachother over religion. This is a good thing of course.

I was, however, refering to the Alawi religion. It has a rather pessimistic belief in predestination were only people who were originally lights in heaven can return. Rather strange as this sect was created through conversion and it claims God manifested itself before many nations and not just Arabs. I understand why your sect is so closed but if you people did allow converts a few hundred years ago that means your current position is a little hypocritical. And if your former sect, today, genuinely beliefs every single non-Alawi is doomed then I would not call this a very tolerant religion with people who view everybody as 'children of God'.

But I was under the impression you are still an Alawi. No harm done. I have nothing against Nusayri's. I just find the actual religion a little pesstimistic if they truely believe I will be reborn as a pig for being born into the wrong family. (Even though there are supposed to be a few good people among all nations, not just Arabs so how can they judge anyway, this is against their own holy texts.)

I know only one Alawi (Nusayri) and she is a very friendly and open-minded person, unlike many Sunni Turks that live here, who rather stick to their own community.
