in response to reader comment: Another victim of Arabian imperialism

What is the purpose of this post?

I am seeking some more information on the Alawi religion that cannot be found in the books available, especially concerning a few contradictions I found while reading those books.

What this has to do with Islam in general, flying horses, wannabe Arab Pakistani Urdu speakers or whatever I do not understand. Some people have been very helpful, unlike you. What are you trying to do? Spread hatred towards muslims in general? Or are you a pissed off Alawi hating the fact so many things about you are common knowledge these days? I guess the former considering your username.

As for Kurds... Lyde, a missionary who lived among them for 6 years wrote in this 19th century book that a certain Alawi tribe had Kurdish roots and as for Turks:

The modern day Alawi group that is called Qaratila are of Turkish background appearantly.

The book by Bar-Asher and Kofsky uses the name 'Ahl-e Nur' which is latinised Arabic for people or light. I did not make this stuff up. It refers to the people who were once creatures (emanations of the divine even) in the divine world of light, which is an essential part of Alawi cosmology.

I seek not to ridiculise their faith, just to discuss some of their doctrines in a serious way purely out of interest. If you are not capable of doing so then this is a shame.

Arabs in general are a cultural group, I am fully aware of their very diverse genetic background, but thanks for the reminder.
