Power and Syria

Reader comment on item: The Alawi Capture of Power in Syria
in response to reader comment: If the Alawi fall what will become of Syria?

Submitted by simonson (Chile), Jul 19, 2012 at 21:42

Nobody (of the enemies) really expected that Russia (with Chinese backing) would stand on their decision to protect Syria; having failed to do so for Libya. Now, an important part of their Naval forces has arrived at "their" port, and some military shall become a non integrated part of the UN "observers" liars. This action may become the stage for a possible general conflict, in which Egypt, Iran and Syria should take an active part. The start of military confrontations depend much on the US Presidential elections and the eventual flashpoint of the desperate Financial situation of the European Community.
