Reader comment on item: The Alawi Capture of Power in Syria
in response to reader comment: If Alawis are so peaceful

Mike you said: if Alawis are so peacefull why they support Assad.

*This is my personal view:

As an Alawi, i want to say that Alawis are against Zionism and see Zionism as a threat for the middle east and world peace. So, the only Arab country who oppose Zionism is Syria, cause it supports Hamas in palestine and Hezbollah in Lebanon. The fall of Syria is a gift to Zionism that is why USA supports the rebellions. Of course everyone in Syria want more democracy and more freedom. Assad is just a person like us and won't live and won't stay forever but Syrians will always be. This is a complex political situation not religious problem. it is not about Alawite-Sunni situation. Syria is socialist secular country, USA wants conservative capitalist pro-Zionist regime like Saudis and Qatar near Israel. They use religion as a weapon to explode Syria. The change will come not from outside(Saudis, Qatar,Turkey, USA etc.) but inside. i believe it and i hope it.

By the way, there is an another situation that some salafi-wahabis (i do not call them as sunnis cause it is an insult for them) declared that Alawites to the grave! Christians to the Beirut! We will get revenge! etc. So tell me, why on earth, the minorities not only Alawites also Christians, Druzes etc. and patriotic sunnis support them while they say such words in their demonstrations.

Hatred can not bring freedom, only slavery.

Imam Ali said: " Hate is a disease of heart, who throw it out from his heart gets relief."

May Allah be with you, Syria and all world.
