If Alawis are so peaceful

If Alawis are peace loving, wonderful people as some of the people who made comments here claim, why are they supporting the Assad family?

The Assads have murdered untold number of people in Syria and Lebanon. I know Alawis are not responsible for the crimes of the Assad family, but they keep supporting them. You are either peaceful people or not. .
