in response to reader comment: Confused about Alawis! What exactly is their religion? My research

As a matter of fact i am an alawi living in australia and my understanding is that women are more highly valued to us then men are. You see back throughout history when women did and were involved it was ok but when we started getting persecuted, our women raped and so on we had to come up with a solution. In the beginning they would come to our men to get information, they would threaten us with things such as " ill cut your head off" if that didn't work they'd then go to the next guy and say "ill cut your sons/daughters head off" and so on. Eventually they realised that no matter what they do to us we wouldn't give up any info so they started to come up with different tactics.

They began by attempting to get info from our women. They would tell the women to give up info or they "would rape their daughters/sons/husbands/mothers" and so on. The women would be terrified and so they would give up the info then they would still get raped, beheaded and killed. Soon we realised that our women weren't as strong, they would give up easier and they would still end up dead. So we decided to exclude them from the religion but do everything on their behalf.

That is once i finish praying i pray on behalf of my wife or daughter etc. Before we knew it everyone caught on and they stopped persecuting our women. We actually believe that our women are more important than our men. In the quran it says ( translated ) your mother then your mother then your mother then your father ) that shows that our women are three times more valued then our men eg: if something was to happen you must save your mother or attempt to 3 times before attempting to save your father.
