Alawi BeliefsReader comment on item: The Alawi Capture of Power in Syria Submitted by kim from Australia (Australia), Aug 24, 2008 at 20:38 I am very interested in learning more about Alawi religion. I have recently married to a lovely man who is Alawi. I am Church of England but would like to convert to my husband's beliefs however I would like to know of any information about the beliefs, books on the subject and where women stand in relation to Alawi religion as it is such a mistery for me. I also find the articles interesting as I search for answers. As I have read that Alawi religion is a combination of paganism, buddhism and christianity but how is this applied in their daily life? My husband prays before he sleeps, after dinner thanking Allah but I am interested in how I can study the religion. My personal view is that the Alawi people are very special as with all my husband's friends, family and people who are Alawi, I have found them to be trully genuine and angelic always helping each other as a wide population.
