Reader comment on item: Strange Sex Stories from the Muslim World

Submitted by Prashant (United States), Jun 5, 2013 at 22:26

Dear Dr Pipes,

To add to your catalog of strange sex stories from Islamic world, I have one more. I am not cooking it up. I verified it from multiple sources. A Islamic cleric in Europe has issued a fatwa against women touching banana and cucumber and other such thing. This news story is too bizarre to be true but then what is not possible when you take old doctrines literally.

Daniel Pipes replies:

This fatwa seems to be a fake. But that it could be taken seriously says something about Islamist muftis.
