Reader comment on item: Strange Sex Stories from the Muslim World
in response to reader comment: YOU CAN'T CONDEMN A RELIGION ACCORDING TO SINNERS

Submitted by Edwin (Canada), Nov 4, 2008 at 10:55

Hafiz is right that one should not condemn a system of superstition on the basis of the behavior of people who do not adhere to the teachings of that superstition. However, when you look at the fact that the islamic system of superstition is practiced by ignorant, uneducated and unthinking people, and is closely associated with the vilest possible behavior, there may be grounds for condemning it as a practical working superstition. Islam is the chosen "religion" of people who also choose to practice the grossest indecency and uncivilized behavior, and use teachings of that superstition system to justify that ill behavior, so it is natural to make an association between the superstition system and that behavior.
