Reader comment on item: Why Would Anyone Want to Blow Up Times Square?

You would think they know a thing or two about such things - given 9/11, terrorism around the world, and attempts of terrorism in this country.

It should have been plain as day not to slam the door on a terrorist attempt as a possibility - especially in the early stages.

Bloomberg's statement should not be an example, however. He merely said it could be anything, which means it could be a terrorist attempt.

But I did read in the papers of NYC authorities ruling out terrorism and telling the public - even before an arrest was made.

As such, NYC gets low marks for how they handled this.

That's why the feds stepped in.
