Gutless wonders

Reader comment on item: Why Would Anyone Want to Blow Up Times Square?

Submitted by Abu Nudnik (Canada), May 5, 2010 at 23:03

I'm less optimistic. The enemy will never be named but by you and a number of increasingly marginalized voices as America descends into the same backbiting that Romans engaged in when the barbarians were at the door.

America's taste for liberty is not as sharp as it once was, they accept bribes for their votes, they elect leaders anxious to arrogate powers from those who lack the courage to exercise them to do the things that must be done. Democracy will surrender without a fight.

Many of us thought 9/11 would wake people up. We were wrong.
