Reader comment on item: Why Would Anyone Want to Blow Up Times Square?

Submitted by Cherif El-Ayouty (Denmark), May 20, 2010 at 03:50

As I could never find a "right" way of interpreting Islam and since I have concluded through my research that Islam is interpreted today only in the "wrong" way, I am totally convinced that Shahzad's twisted mind was properly corrupted by self-appointed Imams whose only interest is to cover the utter failings of their nations by spreading "Hate the West" ideologies and wrapping them into a cloak of Islamic religiosity.

There is no Sudden Jihad, Inordinate Stress, Racism, Harassment, Not belonging, Emotional problems, Pre-traumatic stress disorder or any other lame excuses for Shahdaz and Major Nidal of Ft. Hood for their actions other than an ingrown visceral hatred for the West. We do not have to keep trying to find any explanations, legal, political, religious or medical for Nidal, Shahdaz and their likes. Our free democratic system has allowed those people and all others back to the 9/11 terrorists to encroach and exploit our values against us. Since we certainly do not want to change our free ways then we must strike back at our enemies outside and inside our borders without mercy because those people understand only the language of force. In that respect,

I would like to ask our security agencies to keep track of those Imams exported to our world on regular basis from and financed by Saudi Arabia because they are the original fuel of all terrorist actions in the West whether they come personally here to brain wash our Muslims or they are doing it through the dozens of satellite TV channels owned by the Wahabis. If not then let us wait for the next dozen terrorist attacks on our soil before we can come to the same conclusion and hope we shall be just as lucky each time as in Time Square.
