the people of Iran do NOT hate the USAReader comment on item: A Call for American Boldness in Iran Submitted by thebassguy (United States), Jul 2, 2009 at 11:02 I know a few Iranians (all under 40) and they say only the clerics and politicians are anti-American. Most of the people, especially in the cities, know all about the U.S. and have no issues with Americans or even with Jews. They love the modern conveniences the West has developed and seek a life free of religious rule. They want to have real elections and real freedoms, and realize they have been denied this for over 30 years now. So comments like "Iranians hate Americans" is generally untrue and certainly unhelpful. Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes. Original writing only, please. Comments are screened and in some cases edited before posting. Reasoned disagreement is welcome but not comments that are scurrilous, off-topic, commercial, disparaging religions, or otherwise inappropriate.
