America showing Firmness towards Iran under Obama?

How can Obama show firmness towards Iran/Islamic Jihad, until he knows who and what he is? Does he understand the ideologies of Islam? He should, or if not he should start a crash course on learning about it. Islam is not just another religion, it is a cult determined to rule the world and make the whole world a Dar al Islam. Does Obama go along with this vision or is he opposed to it? Until he decides his stance, how can he make a decisive one?
