What Mr Slater suggests (Muslim Microstates) almost exists in some cities of UK, e.g. Bradford, Birmingham and the East End of London. In one area of London, Muslims have been encouraged to buy up property , centred on a large mosque, and move in to such an extent that it is now virtually a closed autonomous zone. Perhaps the only thing which may save European countries from disaster is that the younger generation is mainly more interested in integration than the restrictive traditions of the past. Also, even from politicians, there is a recognition that multi-culturalism is divisive and does not encourage community development.
