Robin,
You still stick to your basic premise; namely, you and others like you have THE access to the Truth while peoples of faith are deluded by myth and have no bases for their truth claims. That in itself is intolerant in view of the fact that humanists love to talk about acceptance and diversity but seldom practice it.
But to correct just one of your statements: "If you look at the history of humanity, religion has been (and still is) a significant cause of human misery. Even Hitler, responsible for killing 6 million jews was a Roman Catholic for most of his life." Please read the following:
May I suggest you read the following titles as well:
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reichby William Shirer--also This is Berlinand The Nightmare Years.
But most particularly, I suggest the works of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, particularly his Letter and Papers from Prison.Bonhoeffer was a leading German theologian who exposed the Nazi movement for the anti-Christian progrom it rapidly became. He was arrested and executed for his opposition to the Nazi regime, as were many Christians who saw the true nature of Nazism.
Thanks for your response.
