Submitted by David (Thailand), Jan 15, 2009 at 03:17 But isn't the most likely scenario the one not mentioned: the unstable status quo? This scenario would feature continuing tension as Muslim communities continue to chafe under the pluralism that defines our modernity, while remaining too weak to actually overthrow a Western government. At the same time, Western societies would likely be unwilling to resort to something as problematic as mass expulsion. This reality strikes me as the most likely, though, like some of the others, none too pleasant a prospect either.
