claim on JerusalemReader comment on item: The Muslim Claim to Jerusalem Submitted by sufi Imdad Ali Soomro (Pakistan), Jun 2, 2007 at 02:30 It is worth reading interesting articles written by Mr. Daniel Pipes in respect of Muslim claim to Jerusalem. I can not deny that Prophets of Jews built Jerusalem and it remained sacred to Jews as long as they remained adamant to believe in teachings of Jews prophets. They were guardians and every time Almighty Allah urged and emphasized them to adherent to the principles of Allah. Jews were chosen nation and made PLEDGE with Allah and in return blessing and bounties were given to them until, they followed in letter and spirit. When they renounced the teachings of their prophets even killed them without rhyme and reason, then wrath of Allah incurred upon them. They were expelled by Christians and subsequently Muslims developed soft corner for Jews and permitted them to live in peaceful manner. Question rose when Jews broke PLEDGE, killed prophets, distorted teachings and principles of Allah and deviated from right path, still they are chosen nation. ? Of course not. Power has been shifted to Muslims as Holy Quran is Divine Book and being a Muslim, it is our duty to protect holy sites of previous prophets. It is not be exclusive heritage of Muslims but it is incumbent upon Muslims to protect allow not only Jews but also Christians to carry on religious rituals peacefully. It should remain symbolic rather than political contentious issue to play with the feelings of people.
