Oh, Jerusalem!

Daniel,

Thank you so much for that. I really enjoyed reading it. Now this is going to sound nuts but...I actually think the solution to "the problem" of Israel-Palestine is not a two state solution but a single, perhaps federalised (perhaps 6 regions or more), secular (as it is now) state where the rights and protection of Jews, Muslims, etc. are enshrined in the constitution. it does not make sense for such a geographically interdependent area to be permanently split. Then Jerusalem would be shared. The rights of all groups of access to their holy places would be protected and then we would see who really cares about Jerusalem. If your argument is over a holy place, then compete with piety, and not guns. Shalom. Salam. Peace.
