Bob should know, that according to US law, all citizens are equal in the land of immigrants. Any discrimination on the basis of ethnic or regional origin is illegal. By openly threatening a fellow citizen with deportation without any due process of law, Bob is probably committing a criminal act and may be liable to be prosecuted. As for cab drivers, putting out their religious or cultural beliefs to gain some cooperation from the authorities or from fellow citizens, they are covered by freedom of religion. And in any case, if they are committing any illegal act, the only authority that can move against them is the state. People cannot take law in their hand and act as lynch mobs. Those days of lawlessness and anarchy, one hopes, have become old memories, though painful and disgraceful non the less.
