Sharia is not all 'off with the head' routine

Reader comment on item: No Islamic Law in Minnesota, for Now
in response to reader comment: Picking up women passengers against Islam

Romesh Chander is treating all prohibitions in sharia on equal grounds. Picking up stranger woman passenger by a taxi cab driver in open public arena is not the same thing as being closeted with a stranger woman in an enclosed space. Mercifully, prostitutes ready for pick-up are so well-advertised, that they can anytime be differentiated from chaste womenfolk.

Besides picking up a women passenger in itself does not constitute as grave a sin as carrying liquor. By carrying liquor, the cab driver is directly implicated in aiding and abetting a sin, while carrying a woman passenger can not be in itself called a sin. On the contrary, it is a public service.

Sharia is not all 'off with the head' routine.
