yes we have made our mistakes.
as iqbal c has said, we have made our mistakes but the quran does not promote violence. it said to fight in SELF-DEFENSE all the parts about voilence were speeches that muhammed used to prep his fighters against the meccans out for his blood. their are numerous passages in the quran that promote peace PEACE
