What can we do to help?

Reader comment on item: [The Need to Name and] Know Thy Terrorists

Mr. Pipes,

Thank you for keeping us informed. I agree with your perspective. But, what can an ordinary citizen do to help? Have you gotten your message to President Bush? Would it do any good for ordinary citizens to write to him? I only know what I have read and heard and observed since 9-11, but it sure looks like you have your information, but the government needs it too. Surely, they must know these things.

Is it possible that the President and his administration just don't know these things of which you speak and write?

Daniel Pipes replies:

An ordinary person can best help by joining with others and acting together. Individual efforts generally do not have much impact. I'd hope you find the organization that best suits you, give generously to it in time and money, and make a difference through it.
