Reader comment on item: Those Danish Cartoons and Me
in response to reader comment: Desensitizing Muslims

Harrak, you say, "As if Muslims are the only entity that criticizes America.."

Critical thinking is a perquisite in order to to effectively criticize. To hone the critical mind properly, one needs to come out of the entirely subjective viewpoint and develop objectivity. Islam has yet to achieve objectivity and so, substitutes blame for criticism. As a result, blame takes the place of responsibility. Without any notion of what responsibility means, Islam flounders in stagnant waters. While this phenomena may be familiar to any Western parent with teenaged children, it's quite alarming to see over a billion people prepared to act out rather than do what it takes to grow up. (We are mainly assured our adolescent children will grow up ... at least on the good days :) )

Islam's nearsightedness and self-absorption has lent itself heavily to the obscurantism that so confuses anyone who comes within a hair's breadth of Islam (including, of course, self-absorbed practitioners of Islam who incorrectly view the universe as revolving only around their concerns)
