Reader comment on item: Those Danish Cartoons and Me

The internet is the idea medium to mess peoples' minds for sure.

I was trying to find and send you the link to Goebbel's 1928 speech "Knowledge and Propoganda" (always instructive):

when I came across the [wiki: propaganda] which is so comprehensive, you might find it useful as well:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propoganda

The funny thing is even within your report of events there might be (though I feel confident there isn't) some distortion, omission, obfuscation, time line swap, which we, the benighted general readers, don't know about or are ever likely to discover.

There's so much stuff (as the the young people call it nowadays) out there, it is difficult for all but the specialist researcher to keep up with one thread. Its almost the same sort of principle that applies to everyday down and dirty politics, where some wag, Harold Wilson maybe, who said, "A week is a long time in politics". They don't care what they said then as long as the right perception was created and persists. So where does politcs end and spin (Propaganda) begin?

Oh and, finally, one of my favourites, Schopenhauer's The Art of Controversy:
