The "Chopped Liver" MajorityReader comment on item: "Today Gaza, Tomorrow Jerusalem" Submitted by LLR (United States), Aug 11, 2005 at 22:01 "it also offers a rare, live, social-science experiment"...just what we need..."offers" of "experimentation"! No one conducts studies on the cause of Arab anti-semitism. No one needs to. They keep saying the reason is because the god they believe in told them killing Jews is the right thing for them to do. Why then, are the people who don't believe them in past and present historical context the same people who are empowered to carry out the decision for the surrender of Jewish won land, deemed Jewish land by G-d, against Jewish civilians and disarm those same civilians, yet? Another aspect of the tragedy is that when Israel re-became a democracy in 1948, automatic citizenship was granted to every Jew worldwide. Obviously, not every Jew can have a formal vote but, there seems to enough consensus in the mainstream press and amongst us that makes those who want to go through with such surrender the minority amongst us. What are we? Chopped liver? I was reading that many Americans went to Israel, claiming words are not enough; no more; letters to the editor are over." I disagree. I think we still have a small window of opportunity to convey not only a Jewish value and appreciation of our homeland but, the logic of historical context to support the logic against surrender. At Sinai, G-d said, "Do first. Understand later." He didn't mean with our enemies! I don't think we are weak but I think the decision to surrender any part of Israel will prevent us from being strong and this, being the majority opinion amongst us, should lend itself to learn from each other to grow closer and build a stronger Israel, that understands, whether they(the Arabs) ...like it or not!
