Today Gaza, Tomorrow Jerusalem?

I cannot believe that Ariel Sharon has suddenly gone stupid, deaf, and blind.
This is the same Ariel Sharon who kept Yasser Arafat holed-up in Ramallah for the longest time.

This just could be the cleverest maneouvre in Israel's history, perhaps reminiscent of battle strategies of King David.

By withdrawing from Gaza, and making it (pardon the term) Judenrein, it thus becomes possible for Israel to effect annihilation of all of Gaza should circumstances necessitate such action. It would be lighting-swift, before the rest of the world even knows what is going on. Remember the Six Day War? Well the Gaza war could last just a few minutes. End of problem. And a very powerful and convincing warning that Israel is not weak, and will not give in to incessant terrorist demands from the so-called Palestinians (to quote Menachem Begin's terminology).

Even the highly-publicized resignations of Natan Sharansky, and Benjamin Netanyahu could all be part of a very clever plan that shows Israelis giving up the territory only after a lot of kicking, screaming, and crying. But, the reality is that humans and snakes cannot live in the same room.

I don't have any crystal ball, and I don't have any privileged information. This is purely conjecture on my part, but if I could think this up, I am sure Ariel Sharon has already thought it up.

Just in case he hasn't, Mr. Pipes, I think you should bring this message to his attention.

Keep up your wonderful work, and G-d bless you.
