Justification of Polygamy?

Reader comment on item: Westerners Welcome Harems
in response to reader comment: more than one wife

I disagree with the idea that because women are not available to have sex due to her periods, moods, etc. that men should have more than one wife. When a woman is in a bad mood, she does not need to be abandoned and left by her husband so that he can go and sleep with someone else. She needs and desires his love and support. No man can have 2 wives and treat them equal. It is not possible and the idea that men need sex more than women is a lie. Women enjoy sex as much or more then man and are able to have multiple ---, men are not, that is if a man is willing to acknowledge and meet her sexual needs and desires.

There is no science behind your claims. Women are as sexual, if not MORE sexual than men, that is if they are acknowledged and treated with respect for who they are. Plus, Islam denies marriage to younger men who do not have a large enough income and requires them to remain celibate into their late twenties or even thirties. Men DESIRE sex the MOST in their 20's and 30's. Why do OLD men need multiple wives? Old men do not have the ability to meet the sexual needs of younger women. Period. Not without the help of Viagra anyway.....

Why should young men have to wait so long to get married? And if they are poor, they are denied marriage altogether. This system hurts men as well as women. Currently there are actually more MEN in the world then WOMEN. So we have OLD rich men with multiple wives- many of whom are young. And poor young men lonely. It is a completely unfair system, which meets the needs of only the RICH at the expense of the poor and of women.
