Sharia does not REQUIRE polygamy, and we should not tolerate it.

If Islamic law required polygamy, I would be sympathetic to it. After Abraham, Jacob, David and many other Biblical figures had more than one wife at a time.

But, Sharia does not require this practice; it is merely a custom among some Muslims.

Western society has banned bigamy for about a 1,000 years. The ban is valid and should not be revoked. RAther, it should be enforced.
