Reader comment on item: Gilad Shalit and Doing Business with Terrorists

Submitted by ahuva kapon, Israel (Israel), Oct 20, 2011 at 17:03

Rescuing any israeli from the hands of the enemy is priceless. The bond israelis feel, their mutual responsibility, this is our real strength. In a world where small kids are prompted to become terrorists and shahids, keeping these murderers behind bars has never prevented terrorist acts - there's always an endless "supply" of other candidates!

Since Shalit's kidnap, 12! other attempts to kidnap Israelis - failed!. The danger is almost there. We shouldn't be paralyzed by enemy's threats - we should always do what is best for our people, and never, ever repeat the Ron Arad mistake. The Israeli government took a terribly difficult decision. But this decision was the only possible one, from every single aspect.
