Question Of Being Nice

Reader comment on item: On NASA's Strange Priorities

Submitted by Mark D. (United States), Jul 11, 2010 at 00:20

Dr. Pipes, there is something inherently and perhaps morally wrong with all these attention and respect and special treatment thing.

In the certain sense that in everyday life and work one is nice to the people who are nice to you and not nice to the people who are not nice to you.

There are many countries who don't do us any harm and we ignore them. Instead we are nice – or trying to be nice - to people who are not nice to us.

To think for example that the Obama administration has not been nice to Israel – who are nice to us – and try to be nice to those who do us harm.

Wonders never cease.

What is going on here?

Mark D.
