British were NOT appeasers it's just not true

Reader comment on item: Appease Iran?

In actual fact the British did not appease much but were extremely assertive and aggressive in any aggrievement, especially if British lives were taken or any injury to Brits by "the natives".

It was this pro-active show of force which enabled the British to be THE Empire of their times.
