Appeasing Iran

Reader comment on item: Appease Iran?

Submitted by JACQUES HADIDA (United States), Sep 25, 2008 at 12:56

Paul Kennedy concluded his explanation saying :

"presuming humans to be reasonable and peaceful"

However, in a case of ideological proven enemies, where the sense of peace and reason is absent, how can we proceed?

Today, we say that in as much as he may have been gullible, Chamberlain was lured and duped, though he believed he was dealing with reasonable and peacecul human beings.

If we are to learn from History, then why repeat the same mistakes.
