Appease Jihad?

Reader comment on item: Appease Iran?

Submitted by Brian of London (Israel), Sep 25, 2008 at 04:36

After carefully setting the scene of when appeasement can work i.e. with rational counterparts with realistic demands and a willingness to compromise ON BOTH SIDES you fail to explain or highlight why this can NEVER work with ideological and (even worse) religiously ideological opponents. And top of the list is Islam and its deeply ingrained, God granted supremacism over all others. It's a good explanation of why appeasement once worked, but not a good explanation of why it must not be attempted now with Jihad. Negotiate with Jihad? You've lost if you sit down to meet.
