Folly or money ?

Reader comment on item: A Critical Moment For Turkey
in response to reader comment: Iraq, Kosovo and Turkey - Does Bush the Bungler have a clue?

Dear James Burke ,

I fully agree with you. The US is conducting a self-defeating policy towards Islam and Islamic countries. Antagonizing potential friends (Russia) and allying itself with its open enemies ( Saudi Arabia and all other Moslem countries) , creating new Moslem states in Europe (Bosnia , Kosovo) and talking about a "great religion" which is killing American soldiers in Iraq are in my eyes incredible acts of folly and one day not only the US will have to pay dearly for all of them.

But I don't think G. Bush is just a bungler. Behind his march of folly there is some logic and system. It's Moslem money and pressure groups inside America that stand behind seemingly irrational decisions. I am sure the Saudis are happy that they can build mosques and madrassas and spread Wahhabism on the Balcans.
