Maybe an "optimistic" scene at the end ?

Reader comment on item: A Critical Moment For Turkey

Hi , Pat !

I enjoyed what you described very much . But may I suggest a "happy" end though ?

> Of course I would build on your script and end with ordinary Americans shooting the Turkish soldiers in the back as kneel in prayer. The Americans might then be shot down by guns from the Saudi helicopter but they'll fall on the Qu'ran and on the Turks and spatter both with infidel blood before they die. Now THAT's martyrdom. What a way to go!!!!

The same site. Instead of a heap of rubble a splendid White Mosque . The opening ceremony . A throng of reporters , journalists, pilgrims , qadis , imams , ulemas , talibs, jihadis , terrorists from all over the Moslem world is waiting nervously . A distinct group of newly converted top Americans near the entrance - famous Hollywood stars , politicians , senators, bankiers etc. in white cloaks and turbans on their heads. An al-Jazeera reporter approaches a former US president who is having a friendly chat with Osama bin Laden :

- Mr ex-president and now our Moslem brother , what are you feeling at this historical moment when America has finally chosen Islam as the only way to salvation and glory ?

- I am overwhelmingly happy ! You know , I once resided here at the time when the White Mosque was called the White House . But then it was not even a sordid shadow of its present splendour ! Do you remember ? I kept saying at that time : "Islam is a great religion" . But it is only after my conversion after the lost war in Iraq and all the disasters that followed our invasion of Turkey provoked by anti-Moslem extremists in America that I realized the true meaning of this sentence . Now I can proudly repeat the words of one of the greatest Moslems of all times and my dear friend and teacher , prince Osama bin Laden , Saudi Arabia's heir apparent : "There is no true religion but Islam. And Saudi Arabia is its home. " Yes , Islam is the greatest religion of all . I thank Allah five times a day for his grace of making us Americans understand at last this greatest of all truths .

- And what are your sentiments while thinking of all the sacrifices the poor Moslem world had to make to bring about America's conversion to Islam ?

- I am still shocked at the cowardly murder of the two brave Turkish soldiers . They lost their youthful lives in this place on their mission to bring the message of peace and the voice of spiritual Islamic freedom to America . Some hired Islamophobe cowards shot them in the back !!! Now a shrine has been built at the court of the mosque where the bodies of the two courageous Turks will attract pilgrims not only from Turkey . In his last session before its dissolution the America Senate awarded them postumously American citizenship and memorials across the country. A life-long pension will be paid to all their relatives in Turkey . As to the most tragic events of all - the blood-stained Quran brought by the brave Saudi officer - it will become America's new symbol . The blood-stained Quran with stars around it ! The Saudi scientists helped us remove the terrorists' blood from the Quran . So now it is 100% Moslem blood that has remained there. We'll keep the Quran here in the White Mosque as our most precious relic !

Long live Saudi-American Friendship! Long live Islamic America !
