Bhagwat Puran is not claimed to be written by God Almighty -- the creator of the world. It is not based on God's revelations. It is based on rishis' and munis' observations. NO one is bound to believe anything unless proven to be correct. If you are tryng to attack the absurdities in Hinduism -- you are most welcome to do it. No body is going to come and kill you for doing so. There are many absurdities in Hinduism but we reject these as new information becomes available.

Many scientific discoveries once thought to be true were later rejected as new information became available. Many Hindus might like to stick to old absurdities but they are not following the true spirit of Hinduism. And those who challenge any dogma of Hinduism are not put to death. They can continue to live in darkness of ignorance. That is their prerogative.

If you will read Alberuni, even he writes Hindus' laws can change as these are NOT revealed by God -- but made by human beings. So Hindus are not stuck in time -- they can move with time. Due to human inertia it may take a long time but we can overcome absurdities of the past. Nothing in Hinduism is unchangeable. It is purely a knowledge based ideology -- religion actually is a wrong term for what is known Hinduism -- as the basic texts of Hinduism Vedas literally mean. Vedas are knowledge of the times these were written with limited resources and human observation. Hindus are not fighitng to live by the coed of the Vedas or of any other old text. Hindus move with the times and it is not surprising that Hindus can have a vibrant democracy, however corrupt and inefficient -- but a true Muslim country cannot.

THE ONLY CONSTANT IN LIFE IS CHANGE. THOSE WHO DON'T CHANGE WILL ULTIMATELY DIE.
